BUILD YOUR OWN
Every Kitab Korner is started by one or two individuals and fuelled by a community
Every Kitab Korner is started by one or two individuals and fuelled by a community. Pictured is a Kitab Korner library center in a Government School in Pune, India.
"Building" a Kitab Korner does not entail physically building a library with bricks and cement. "Building" a Kitab Korner entails taking the lead on converting an appropriate space into a Kitab Korner library center. See 'Creation Process' for more information.
KKEF will assist every 'Build Your Own' participant by providing the participant with an appropriate location for a Kitab Korner, and closely guiding the participant through the set-up process.
In exchange, we expect participants to make themselves available for two weeks, and to generate funds to support the costs associated with the initial set-up of the Kitab Korner.
A few notes for you to keep in mind:
- We welcome and encourage you to build a Kitab Korner library center alone or with a partner. We do not encourage groups of three or more individuals.
- Taking on the responsibility of building a Kitab Korner library center is a very noble but serious one. We want to ensure that all individuals who embark on building a Kitab Korner are able to complete the task successfully.
If you are interested in building your own Kitab Korner library center, kindly submit your details below. We will call you within five working days to conduct a phone interview.
